Woman rushed to hospital after being savaged by two dogs fighting in the street
A woman has been rushed to hospital after being attacked as two dogs fought in street in Liverpool.
The victim was taken away in an ambulance after a dog sunk its teeth into her arm in the Toxteth area just before 9am.
Several police cars and a police van blocked off the street after responding to reports that two dogs had started fighting each other, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Police said the injured woman had not suffered life-threatening injuries but was being assessed in hospital.
One neighbour described hearing loud voices and swearing and said they saw one person being taken into a police van.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: “At around 8.55am, officers were called to an address in Cedar Grove after it was reported that two dogs were fighting and a woman had sustained a bite wound to her arm.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the woman’s injury, described as non-life threatening, will be assessed.”
A North West Ambulance spokesman said: “We went to an incident on Cedar Grove, Toxteth, at 09.08 this morning.
“An ambulance took a female patient to hospital.”
